Geometric theory is used to create a 3d image using an extra axis.In 2d images are created by connecting points on the x and y axis
Cartesian Coordinates System
3d programs work using a grid of 3d co-ordinates. 3d co-ordinates are the same as 2-d co-ordinates but they use a z axis known as a “depth” axis
